English: There is no god but Allah alone, without partner. His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He is able to do all things.

اردو: اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں، وہ اکیلا ہے، اس کا کوئی شریک نہیں، بادشاہی اسی کی اور تعریف اسی کی، وہ ہر چیز پر قدرت رکھتا ہے۔

لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ

English: There is no power and no strength except with Allah.

اردو: نہ کوئی طاقت ہے نہ کوئی قوت، سوائے اللہ کے۔

اردو: اللہ! ہمارے نبی محمد ﷺ پر رحمتیں اور سلامتی نازل فرما۔

اردو: اے دلوں کے پھیرنے والے! میرے دل کو اپنے دین پر ثابت قدم رکھ۔

English: My Lord, expand my chest, ease my task, and untie the knot from my tongue so that they may understand my speech.

اردو: اے میرے رب! میرا سینہ کھول دے، میرا کام آسان کر دے، اور میری زبان کی گرہ کھول دے تاکہ لوگ میری بات سمجھ سکیں۔

English: All praise is for Allah who gave us life after death, and to Him is the return.

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

English: In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing on earth or in heaven can cause harm; He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.

اردو: اللہ کے نام سے جس کے نام کے ساتھ زمین و آسمان کی کوئی چیز نقصان نہیں پہنچا سکتی، اور وہ سب کچھ سننے اور جاننے والا ہے۔

اردو: ہم نے صبح کی، اور آج صبح بادشاہی اللہ ہی کے لیے ہے، سب تعریف اللہ کے لیے ہے، اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں، وہ اکیلا ہے، اس کا کوئی شریک نہیں۔

اردو: میں اللہ کے کامل کلمات کی پناہ مانگتا ہوں ہر اُس چیز کے شر سے جو اُس نے بنائی۔

English: In the name of Allah, I place my trust in Allah; there is no power and no strength except with Allah.

English: In the name of Allah we enter, in the name of Allah we leave, and upon our Lord we place our trust.

اردو: اللہ کے نام سے ہم نے داخل ہوئے، اللہ کے نام سے ہم نے نکلے، اور ہم نے اپنے رب پر بھروسہ کیا۔

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي كَسَانِي هَٰذَا وَرَزَقَنِيهِ مِنْ غَيْرِ حَوْلٍ مِنِّي وَلَا قُوَّةٍ

English: All praise is for Allah who clothed me with this and provided it for me without any effort or power on my part.

اردو: سب تعریف اللہ کے لیے جس نے مجھے یہ پہنایا اور بغیر میری کسی طاقت اور کوشش کے مجھے یہ عطا کیا۔

Allahumma kama hassanta khalqi fahassin khuluqi

اللَّهُمَّ كَمَا حَسَّنْتَ خَلْقِي فَحَسِّنْ خُلُقِي

English: O Allah, just as You have made my appearance beautiful, make my character beautiful too.

اردو: اے اللہ! جیسے تو نے میری صورت خوبصورت بنائی، میرے اخلاق بھی خوبصورت بنا دے۔

English: All praise is for Allah who fed us, gave us drink, and made us Muslims.

اردو: سب تعریف اللہ کے لیے جس نے ہمیں کھلایا، پلایا اور ہمیں مسلمان بنایا۔

Allahumma barik lahum fima razaqtahum, waghfir lahum warhamhum

اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَهُمْ فِيمَا رَزَقْتَهُمْ، وَاغْفِرْ لَهُمْ وَارْحَمْهُمْ

English: O Allah, bless them in what You have provided them, and forgive them and have mercy on them.

اردو: اے اللہ! ان کو اپنے دیے ہوئے رزق میں برکت دے، ان کو بخش دے اور ان پر رحم فرما۔

Dhahabaz-zama'u wabtallatil-'uruqu, wa thabatal-ajru in sha Allah

ذَهَبَ الظَّمَأُ وَابْتَلَّتِ الْعُرُوقُ، وَثَبَتَ الْأَجْرُ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ

English: Thirst is gone, the veins are moistened, and the reward is confirmed — if Allah wills.

اردو: پیاس ختم ہو گئی، رگیں سیراب ہو گئیں، اور اجر ثابت ہو گیا، اگر اللہ نے چاہا۔

Allahumma Rabba hadhihid-da'watit-tammah, was-salatil-qa'imah, ati Muhammadan al-wasilata wal-fadilah, wab'ath-hu maqaman mahmudan alladhi wa'adtah

اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ هَٰذِهِ الدَّعْوَةِ التَّامَّةِ، وَالصَّلَاةِ الْقَائِمَةِ، آتِ مُحَمَّدًا الْوَسِيلَةَ وَالْفَضِيلَةَ، وَابْعَثْهُ مَقَامًا مَحْمُودًا الَّذِي وَعَدْتَهُ

English: O Allah, Lord of this perfect call and the prayer to be offered, grant Muhammad the intercession and favour, and raise him to the honoured station You have promised him.

اردو: اے اللہ! اس کامل پکار اور قائم ہونے والی نماز کے رب! محمد ﷺ کو وسیلہ اور فضیلت عطا فرما، اور انہیں وہ مقام محمود عطا فرما جس کا تو نے وعدہ کیا ہے۔

اللَّهُمَّ افْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ

English: O Allah, open for me the gates of Your mercy.

اردو: اے اللہ! میرے لیے اپنی رحمت کے دروازے کھول دے۔

Allahumma antas-salam wa minkas-salam, tabarakta ya dhal-jalali wal-ikram

اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ السَّلَامُ وَمِنْكَ السَّلَامُ، تَبَارَكْتَ يَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ

English: O Allah, You are Peace, and from You comes peace. Blessed are You, O Owner of Majesty and Honour.

اردو: اے اللہ! تو سلامتی ہے اور تیری ہی طرف سے سلامتی ہے، برکت والا ہے تو اے عظمت اور بزرگی والے!

After the Salah

Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan wa fil-akhirati hasanatan wa qina 'adhaban-nar

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

English: Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.

اردو: اے ہمارے رب! ہمیں دنیا میں بھلائی دے اور آخرت میں بھلائی دے، اور ہمیں آگ کے عذاب سے بچا۔

Quran 2:201 — after Salah and at all times

Allahumma inni astakhiruka bi'ilmika, wa astaqdiruka biqudratika, wa as'aluka min fadlikal-'azim

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْتَخِيرُكَ بِعِلْمِكَ، وَأَسْتَقْدِرُكَ بِقُدْرَتِكَ، وَأَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ الْعَظِيمِ

English: O Allah, I seek Your guidance by Your knowledge, and I seek ability by Your power, and I ask You from Your immense bounty.

اردو: اے اللہ! میں تیرے علم سے تیری رائے مانگتا ہوں، تیری قدرت سے استخواہ مانگتا ہوں، اور تیرے عظیم فضل سے سوال کرتا ہوں۔

Istikhara — after praying two rak'ahs before a decision; ask your instructor to teach you the full dua

Subhanal-ladhi sakhkhara lana hadha wa ma kunna lahu muqrinin, wa inna ila Rabbina lamunqalibun

سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَٰذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ، وَإِنَّا إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا لَمُنْقَلِبُونَ

English: Glory to Him who has subjected this to us, and we could never have it by our own efforts. And to our Lord we shall surely return.

اردو: پاک ہے وہ ذات جس نے اس کو ہمارے تابع کر دیا، ورنہ ہم اسے قابو میں نہ لا سکتے تھے، اور ہم اپنے رب ہی کی طرف لوٹنے والے ہیں۔

Allahumma inna nas'aluka fi safarina hadhal-birra wat-taqwa, wa minal-'amali ma tarda

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَسْأَلُكَ فِي سَفَرِنَا هَٰذَا الْبِرَّ وَالتَّقْوَىٰ، وَمِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا تَرْضَىٰ

English: O Allah, we ask You on this journey for righteousness and God-consciousness, and for deeds that please You.

اردو: اے اللہ! ہم اس سفر میں تجھ سے نیکی اور تقویٰ مانگتے ہیں، اور ایسے اعمال مانگتے ہیں جو تیرے پسند ہوں۔

Ayibuna ta'ibuna 'abiduna li Rabbina hamidun

آيِبُونَ تَائِبُونَ عَابِدُونَ لِرَبِّنَا حَامِدُونَ

English: We return, we repent, we worship and we praise our Lord.

اردو: ہم لوٹنے والے ہیں، توبہ کرنے والے ہیں، ہماری عبادت اور تعریف ہمارے رب کے لیے ہے۔

Returning home from a journey

Family

Rabbir-hamhuma kama rabbayani saghira

رَبِّ ارْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِي صَغِيرًا

English: My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up when I was small.

اردو: اے میرے رب! ان دونوں پر رحم فرما جیسے اُنھوں نے مجھے بچپن میں پالا۔

Quran 17:24 — praying for your parents

Rabbana hab lana min azwajina wa dhurriyyatina qurrata a'yunin waj'alna lil-muttaqina imama

رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ وَاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا

English: Our Lord, grant us from our spouses and offspring comfort to our eyes, and make us leaders of the righteous.

اردو: اے ہمارے رب! ہمیں ہماری بیویوں اور اولاد سے آنکھوں کی ٹھنڈک عطا فرما، اور ہمیں پرہیزگاروں کا پیشوا بنا۔

Quran 25:74 — for the whole family

U'idhukuma bikalimatillahit-tammah, min kulli shaytanin wa hammah, wa min kulli 'aynin lammah

أُعِيذُكُمَا بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّةِ، مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ وَهَامَّةٍ، وَمِنْ كُلِّ عَيْنٍ لَامَّةٍ

English: I seek protection for you both in the perfect words of Allah from every devil and poisonous creature, and from every envious eye.

اردو: میں تم دونوں کو اللہ کے کامل کلمات کی پناہ میں دیتا ہوں ہر شیطان، ہر زہریلے جانور اور ہر نظرِ بد سے۔

The Prophet ﷺ sought this protection for Hasan and Husayn

Forgiveness & Protection

Allahumma anta Rabbi la ilaha illa anta, khalaqtani wa ana 'abduk, wa ana 'ala 'ahdika wa wa'dika mastata'tu

اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ، وَأَنَا عَلَىٰ عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ

English: O Allah, You are my Lord; there is no god but You. You created me and I am Your slave, and I keep Your covenant and promise as much as I can.

اردو: اے اللہ! تو میرا رب ہے، تیرے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں، تو نے مجھے پیدا کیا اور میں تیرا بندہ ہوں، اور میں اپنی پوری کوشش کے مطابق تیرے عہد اور وعدے پر قائم ہوں۔

Sayyidul Istighfar — the master of all repentance; whoever says it by day with conviction and dies that day enters Paradise

Forgiveness & Protection

La ilaha illa anta subhanaka inni kuntu minaz-zalimin

لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ

English: There is no god but You; Glory be to You! Indeed, I was among the wrongdoers.

اردو: تیرے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں، تو پاک ہے، بے شک میں ہی ظالم تھا۔

Quran 21:87 — the dua of Yunus, in any distress or hardship

Forgiveness & Protection

Allahummak-fini bihalalika 'an haramika, wa aghnini bifadlika 'amman siwak

اللَّهُمَّ اكْفِنِي بِحَلَالِكَ عَنْ حَرَامِكَ، وَأَغْنِنِي بِفَضْلِكَ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ

English: O Allah, suffice me with what is lawful so I need nothing unlawful, and enrich me by Your bounty so I need no one besides You.

اردو: اے اللہ! حلال سے مجھے حرلال سے بے نیاز کر دے، اور اپنے فضل سے مجھے دوسروں سے بے نیاز کر دے۔

Worry about debt or income

Forgiveness & Protection

La ba'sa, tahurun in sha Allah

لَا بَأْسَ، طَهُورٌ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ

English: No harm — may it be a purification, if Allah wills.

اردو: کوئی ضرر نہیں، ان شاء اللہ یہ پاکی کا باعث ہے۔

Visiting the sick
